What Was Truly Miraculous
Delizia Cirolli had Ewing's sarcoma of the right knee—a rare, aggressive bone cancer. Before modern chemotherapy, survival was under 10%. Spontaneous cure without surgery, radiation, or drugs is unheard of in medical literature. She was cured at Lourdes on 24 December 1976. The Bishop of Catania declared the cure miraculous in 1989.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
The Lourdes Medical Bureau gathered documentation; the International Medical Committee (C.M.I.L.) affirmed the cure was inexplicable in the current state of medical knowledge. The Bishop of Catania recognized it on 28 June 1989. Ewing sarcoma is a lethal bone cancer. Spontaneous cure without surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy is not documented in oncology.
