Healing of Rose Martin (Perona)
Lourdes, France · 20th Century

What Was Truly Miraculous
In February 1946 Mrs Martin underwent total hysterectomy for epithelial carcinoma of the cervix. Fourteen months later she developed pelvic metastases and became cachexic. She was taken to Lourdes on 30 June 1947 in a semi-comatose state. After the third Bath she got up, had no more pain, and behaved normally. On returning home there were neither functional signs nor the slightest trace of her tumour. She gained 17 kg in 10 months. Prof. The Bishop of Nice officially recognized the cure as miraculous on 17 March 1958.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
The Lourdes Medical Bureau gathered documentation; the International Medical Committee (C.M.I.L.) affirmed the cure was inexplicable in the current state of medical knowledge. The Bishop of Nice recognized it on 17 March 1958. Metastatic cervical cancer does not spontaneously regress. The Medical Bureau confirmed no medical explanation.
