Healing of Antonia Moulin
Lourdes, France · 20th Century

What Was Truly Miraculous
In February 1905 Antonia developed an abscess of the right leg with phlebitis; she stayed in hospital over 6 months. She went to Lourdes in September 1905—and left without improvement. Her condition deteriorated; she spent 10 months in the Hotel-Dieu in Lyons. In August 1907 she set off again for Lourdes as an incurable patient. On the second day she was carried to the Baths. When her wound was redressed, it had scarred over and she could use her limb again. The Bishop of Grenoble officially recognized the cure as miraculous on 6 November 1911.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
The Lourdes Medical Bureau gathered documentation; the International Medical Committee (C.M.I.L.) affirmed the cure was inexplicable in the current state of medical knowledge. The Bishop of Grenoble recognized it on 6 November 1911. Tuberculous bone disease does not spontaneously heal. The Medical Bureau and bishop verified the cure.
