Giuseppe Fusco — St. Giuseppe Moscati
Naples, Italy · 20th Century

What Was Truly Miraculous
Giuseppe Fusco was dying of leukemia. His mother dreamed of a doctor in a white coat; when her priest showed her Moscati's photograph, she identified him. Through Moscati's intercession, Fusco was miraculously cured. He returned to work as an ironworker, attended the 1987 canonization, and presented Pope John Paul II with a wrought-iron face of Christ he had made.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
Leukemia in the 1950s was typically fatal. Bone marrow biopsies and blood panels documented the diagnosis; sudden remission without effective treatment was medically unprecedented at the time. Moscati was a physician—his miracle defies his own science. Fusco returned to work as an ironworker and attended the 1987 canonization; his presence is documented.
