Fr. Ronald Pytel — St. Faustina (Canonization)
Baltimore, USA · 20th Century

What Was Truly Miraculous
Fr. Ronald Pytel had massive calcium buildup in his aortic valve and a permanently damaged left ventricle—heart failure with only 20% normal blood flow. Dr. Fortuin (Johns Hopkins) arranged emergency valve replacement. On October 5, 1995 (anniversary of Faustina's death), parishioners prayed; he venerated a relic and collapsed. A month later, echocardiograms showed his heart completely normal—no surgery.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
Comparative echocardiograms before and after document the before/after. Dr. Nicholas Fortuin of Johns Hopkins had documented the damage and arranged emergency valve replacement—a damaged ventricle does not regenerate. A month after the prayer service, his heart was completely normal. No surgery was performed. The medical evidence is straightforward.
