Incorrupt Body — St. Catherine Labouré
Paris, France · 20th Century

What Was Truly Miraculous
St. Catherine Labouré (1806–1876) received the Miraculous Medal apparitions at Rue du Bac, Paris. She was exhumed 57 years after her death during her beatification process. The exhumation was well-documented by the examining physicians present. They verified the incorrupt state of her body and the specific preservation of her eyes (still blue/grey and distinct) and hands. Physical, post-mortem evidence documented through sworn medical exhumation reports. The body remains on display at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Rue du Bac, Paris.
Why It Can't Be Dismissed
Incorruptibility provides physical evidence—not subjective testimony. The examining physicians produced sworn reports from the beatification process. Human bodies typically decompose within years, especially in damp conditions; preservation of eyes and hands 57 years after death is not explained by natural processes. The body remains on display and can be examined. This is physical, verifiable evidence separate from healing miracles.
